Rosaline Lau

AECOM

Executive Director, Building Engineering (Structural)

Rosaline Lau serves as the Executive Director of Building Engineering (Structural) at AECOM, where she leads building structure projects and ESG initiatives for the Asia Building and Places division. Her vision is to integrate ESG principles to create thriving communities and contribute to a better world. Recently, she showcased her enthusiasm by serving as a judge at the 2024 SustainabilityHACK, jointly organized by MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node, Innospace, and the Construction Industry Council.

Rosaline has also recently presented at the technical seminar on Effective Use of High Strength Steel S690 organized by the Chinese National Engineering Research Centre for Steel Construction (Hong Kong Branch), the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Hong Kong Constructional Metal Structures Association, for the pioneering use of S690 high strength structural steel in Hong Kong’s private residential development. This groundbreaking work will be resulted in significant benefits to the environment, including enhanced efficiency, reduced carbon footprint, and optimized site logistics.

With 18 years of experience at AECOM, Rosaline has delivered innovative engineering solutions across various markets, including residential, commercial, institutional sectors, data centers, recreational facilities, and hotels in Hong Kong and Singapore. Her work on acclaimed projects such as 11 SKIES, Resorts World Sentosa, and One Wanchai has earned accolades, including recognition from the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers’ Structural Excellence Award and CTBUH.

In addition to her role at AECOM, Rosaline sits on the company’s Global Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) steering committee, advocating for a more inclusive workplace. Rosaline has also recently become Co-opted Member in The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers’ Structural Division. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science in Civil Engineering from The University of British Columbia and a Master’s degree in Infrastructure Project Management from The University of Hong Kong.

Harry Lai

Hong Kong Green Building Council

Executive Director

Ir Harry LAI, BBS is the Executive Director of the Hong Kong Green Building Council. He was the Principal Advisor of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) from 2019 to 2023. Prior to his retirement from the civil services in 2019, Ir LAI was the Deputy Director/Regulatory Services of EMSD responsible for overseeing the enforcement of regulatory functions and implementation of various initiatives on electrical, mechanical, gas and railway safety as well as energy efficiency and conservation. Ir LAI had represented Hong Kong, China (HKC) to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Energy Working Group (EWG) meetings.

Ir LAI received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Master of Science degree in Environmental Management, both from the University of Hong Kong. He is a chartered engineer, a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and also the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK. He had served as Chairman of the HKIE Nuclear Division, Secretary of the HKIE Electrical Disciplinary Advisory Panel, and also Member of the HKIE Fellowship Committee. Ir LAI is the Adjunct Professor of the School of Energy and Environment, City University of Hong Kong and the Adjunct Professor of the Research Institute for Smart Energy, Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Alvan Wong

Assistant General Manager

Alvan Wong is the Assistant General Manager, Projects at Hysan Development Co. Ltd. In this role, he manages key projects in the prestigious Lee Garden Areas, including a large-scale commercial development at Caroline Hill Road in Causeway Bay. Alvan is committed to achieving the highest standards, particularly in sustainability and wellness, across his projects.

With over 20 years of experience in project management and architectural planning, Alvan has worked on commercial, residential, and hospitality developments both in China and Hong Kong. Prior to joining Hysan, he held the role of Assistant General Manager, Project Management at Henderson Land Development Co. Ltd. Alvan has also worked at other reputable firms such as Wong & Ouyang (HK) Ltd. and Citic Pacific Limited.
Alvan holds a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in architecture from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is a Registered Architect, an Authorized Person (Architect), and a member of The Hong Kong Institute of Architects. Additionally, Alvan is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and BEAMPro.

My Sustainability Goals for 2024:
1. Promote the adoption of new technologies to leverage the advantages of mass production of MiMEP modules for better quality through standardized, productized and low-carbon modular building solutions that drive greener construction.
2. Encourage all industry practitioners to adopt MiMEP in design and installation for safety, constructability, and sustainability.

Daniele Gambero

Dr Daniele Gambero, an Italian expatriate in Malaysia since 1998, is a prominent entrepreneur and investor in the property and PropTech sectors. As Group CEO and co-founder of REI Group, Propenomy.com, Athena SmartCities, Aivot, and anybodyAHOME, he has pioneered affordable housing solutions through digital transformation and innovative financing.

His work includes significant partnerships with research institutions, think tanks, and government agencies, addressing urban challenges with his Propenomy model.

Within the property ecosystem, he advocates improvements aligned with SDG-2030 and ESG compliance. His commitment extends to urban sustainability goals such as affordable education, gender equality, clean energy, innovation, and inclusive & sustainable cities.

An influential figure in the global PropTech, Dr Gambero is the President of Malaysia PropTech Association, council member of Malaysia Business Angel Network, a mentor for startups and frequent judge in pitching competitions, the bestselling author of Malaysian Propenomy and a sought-after international speaker.

His contributions have earned him multiple awards and recognition as a Marketing, Sustainability, Property and PropTech expert.

Improved inclusivity of affordable housing project, more transparent tendering process in the construction industry, in general (not limited to Hong Kong) I’m supporting a stronger impact of women in the proptech ecosystem.
